Why HyperFormation?

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to software development. We all know that engineering practices aren’t universal; they’re like a toolbox. Finding the right tools for your team’s specific challenges—ones that align with your business objectives—is critical. That’s why I started HyperFormation: to create a community where engineering managers and leaders can discover, share, and learn the practices that work for them.

Being in a leadership or management position can be lonely. There’s a quiet pressure we face every day, the nagging questions: Am I doing enough? Are my decisions leading my team in the right direction? Impostor syndrome creeps in, no matter how long you’ve been in the game. It’s only natural to wonder if the choices we’re making are the best ones. That’s why peers are essential—they remind us we’re not alone and can bring a fresh perspective to our challenges.

As engineering leaders, it’s helpful to see best practices as adaptable tools, not rigid rules. Every decision we make must consider our team’s unique context—our specific organizational goals and the challenges we face. The reality is, what works for one team is not what works for all and what is a priority for one may not be the top priority for another.

What if you could easily look up any engineering challenge and see the practices that best address it? What if you could connect with peers facing similar challenges, armed with the context of potential solutions, to engage in thoughtful, problem-solving conversations? That’s the vision behind HyperFormation.

It will provide the tools that empower you to create meaningful connections with other engineering leaders. The industry surveys gather real data about the practices and challenges faced by teams like yours. Peer groups provide a space for deep, insightful discussions. The practices directory allows for a more comprehensive understanding of the landscape of engineering solutions.

This isn’t just about solving today’s problems. It’s about growing as leaders, building a network of peers, mentors, and friends who’ll be there to help navigate the challenges ahead. Our mission at HyperFormation is to help you grow as an engineering leader. HF fosters a focus on pragmatic, objective-driven solutions through peer discussions and collaborative problem-solving.

I’m excited to be on this journey with you.

Warm regards,
